Jen has many years experience in community theater: acting, directing and event hosting. From winning her high school talent show doing Improv to putting on fundraising productions for charity to providing entertainment for local small business to kids’ productions, she’s tended to all aspects of theater and performance. She was nominated in 2018 for a Monti Award in the Best Actress category in her first role (lead) in decades and looks forward to helping your theater minded kid cultivate their craft.
But also note, while none of Jen’s kids are theater minded-all have benefitted from the skills acquired through acting and improv class- namely finding their voice, facing insecurities, cultivating a presence, studying dialogue and character, collaboration, movement, non-verbal communication and so much more. For these reasons, it makes a good companion class to Public Speaking and Debate also offered on Thursdays in the time slot immediately preceding this class.
